“Alex Da Silva is due to be sentenced in Court on January 27, 2012 after a trial that was concluded in September, 2011.  As things now  stand, Alex will be sentenced from 5 to 14 years in state prison, depending on the Court’s discretion.  Under state law, Alex will  be required to serve 85% of whatever term he receives.  Additionally, once he completes the sentence, Alex will be required to register with police as a sex offender every year on his birthday for the rest of his life.  Failure to do so could result in lifetime prison  commitment.  No person, regardless of whether he treated others kindly, fairly, or with respect, should suffer such terrible consequences  for acts he is not guilty of committing.
